At the heart of Central High Atlas is located the valley of Ait Bouguemez (also called the Happy Valley). This trip invites you to discover the Berber world. Dinosaur footprints, collective attic, marabout, a journey into the past of this miraculous valley but also immerse yourself in lifetime of its residents. Accompanied by our team, mountain guide, mule drivers and cooks will encourage meetings and exchanges with its inhabitants.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech - Home

Home at the airport by a member of our team and transfer to your accommodation, hotel or Riad. Depending to your arrival, free time to vsit Marrakech



Day 2: Marrakech- Azilal – Ait Bougumez valley ( 1900 m )

After a delicious breakfast, we set off towards the High Atlas Azilal and the valley of Ait Bougumez (5 hours drive) where you expect Ahmed and his family. Home to house Tamazirte and first steps into the valley, visit of Arouss village and discover the diversity of local adobe architecture.



Day 3: Gite Tamazirte ( 1900 m )- Arouss Gorges - Ikkis Tulip ( 2200 m )

For this first day’s trek, we go up the Arouss valley. On the way, ancient cave granaries reflect an agricultural past. Arriving at Ikiss, place of summer transhumance, panoramic view of the M’goun peaks ( 4067 m ) we stop for lunch. In the afternoon trips to the gorges then back to tulip Ikkis for night. 5 h  walk



Day 4: Ikkis Tulip ( 2200 m ) - Igoudamn - Ait Imi ( 1850 m )

After breakfast at Ikkis tulip departure for the ascent of Jebel Igoudamen by a small custard path very little used, came up impressive view for pictures, picnics surrounded by nature, after a beautiful descent we join the happy valley to the village of Aguerd-n-Ozrou. Then continue to the village of Ait Imi where we are greeted at the family house for the night. 6 h walk



Day 5: Ait Imi ( 1850 m ) - Ibakliwoune - Ifrane ( 2000 m )

We leave the village of Ait Imi by fields towards the village of Ibakilwine after visiting the dinosaur footprints, we begin the ascent of Jebel Adazen on its peaks a panoramic view of both directions of the valley, then an easy descent allows us to reach the other side of the valley to the village of Ifran. Night at family house. 4 h walk



Day 6: Ait Bougumez - Marrakech

We leave the valley, leaving behind the peaks of the Atlas and friendly people. Back in Marrakech, the Red City, the tranquility gives way to the tumult of the medina … On the route, possibility to visit Ouzoud, the highest waterfalls in Morocco, where you can even see monkeys. 5 h 30 drive



Day 7: Visit of Marrakech - Medina

 A day to soak up this historic city, the former capital of Morocco. The medina, palaces, craftsmen, spice souks, Marrakech, distills an African atmosphere, Eastern, an invitation to disorientation.


Day 8: Transfer to the airport - end of our services

We wish you a pleasant journey back home and look forward to seeing you again.

We had a lovely day with gide Mohammed Alla. We learned a lot about the moroccan culture and had a beautiful walk around the Ouzoud waterfalls. Mohammed was helpfull, relaxed and very friendly.
