Deep in the great Moroccan south, extends two large ergs of dunes. A sea of sand where life seems to lose its breath and its sense of time. Four days walking among dunes Zhar, Chagga, Tamarisks tree along Draa River, plateaus and desert mountains where we can cross easily the nomads with their herds of goats and camels. Choose the camel trekking you’ll experience first-hand the vastness of the desert and the beauty of the dunes.

Day 1: Airport-Marrakech Hotel

A member of our team will be waiting for you at airport to transfer you to your riad/hotel  in Marrakesh. An early flight arrival will give you time to immerse yourself in this wonderfully flamboyant city.

Day 2: Marrakech -Ourzazate - Draa Valley

After breakfast at your hotel/Riad, welcome by your tour guide followed by a wonderful driving day heading for the southern Morocco crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Lunch is taken in a nice restaurant at Ouarzazate, we then carry on driving towards the Draa valley through the rocky desert and spectacular Mountains of Jebel Saghrou. Overnight Stay deluxe tented camping, Or hotel in The Palmery.

Day 3: Draa Valley - M'Hamid

After a leisurely breakfast, we leave our campsite heading for Zagora and OuladDriss village. We spend the morning driving along the Draa valley, offering a fascinating range of contrasting sceneries, colourful and quaint oases, verdant palm-groves wisely cultivated and fortified mud-red villages. Stopping at the village of OuladDriss for lunch and to have a cup of mint tea in a Berber house. In the afternoon we discover the first landscapes of the desert and really enjoy a 3-hour camel trek accompanied by our caravan of camels that willcarry all camping equipments and your luggage as we trek through oases and dunes of Bounou. Our light Nomadic camping is set up in the middle of the dunes of Mhamid.

Day 4: M'Hamid- Sidi Naji

We leave the dunes of M’Hamid and walk between dunes and plateaus, following our caravan footsteps, across the soft curves of sandy dunes and the flatness of the hammada (black desert) as dust devils whirl and mirages shimmer in the distance, traveling all the way with nothing around us but sand, tranquility and open blue sky, we will then head out to find the ideal camping area for the evening, and sitting on on the dunes of Sidi Naji. 4 H walk

Day 5: Sidi Naji - Erg Zhar Dunes

Today we discover the majesty of the Sahara desert with its endless sand dunes and breath-taking scenery. After a 5 hour walk through less undiscovered places we join the most spectacular Erg Zaher vast dunes, where you can experience a sense of wilderness, breathe clean air of the Sahara desert and explore the diversity of wonderfully changing landscapes with splendid undulating sand dunes that change color as the day progresses along with the guarantee of a cheerful welcome from the nomadic Berber people, we camp. Ascension of the big dune for the brave.

Day 6: Erg Zhar- Erg Smar Dunes

After breakfast, start walking towards Erg Smar,  across the Draa River, vast area of sand dunes makes for a breathtaking landscape, particularly at sunrise or sunset. In the evening we make fire and admire a purely sky full with brightly stars and night out in the open air with moments of real pleasure to discover constellations. Jbel Bani and Erg Chegag appears in distance from this campside of Erg Smar. 5H walk

Day 7: Erg Smar - Erg Chegaga Dunes

 We enjoy one last day the beautiful golden sands. day dunes that takes us to the dramatic 300 meter-high dunes of Erg Chigaga undulate into infinity like a vast ocean of sand, and today is dedicated to fully absorbing the desert experience. Little disturbs the silence other than the sound of your feet as you trek among the dunes (not quite as easy as your guide will make it look). You can meet nomadic families of the Ait Atta Berber tribe that live here and learn about life in this wildest desert of Morocco.. Bivouac. 5 hours of walking.

Day 8: Erg Chegaga - Marrakech

Leaving the Southern Morocco we take the road back to Marrakesh over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, 2260 meters. While driving on fascinating routes, the scenery is varied and ever-changing. We pass through many villages and towns. Half way, we stop for lunch in restaurant at Taznakhtevillage, we then carry on driving through the winding road of the Tizi-n-Ticka until Ait Berka village. We arrive at Marrakesh around 5:30 pm and drop you off at your riad or hotel.

Day 9: Transfer back - Marrakech Airport

Transfert from your hotel to Marrakech Aerport for flight departure. This ends your Morocco Travel experience.

I can’t say enough about Mohamed. He made us feel very welcome in his country providing us with guidance and assistance throughout our journey.
